Like the Crimson Tide, the Seminoles put themselves on the short list of the best teams in college football this season. They should be commended for going undefeated. In a world where common sense and fair play ruled the day, they would be celebrating their ACC championship and making playoff plans.

That is not sarcasm or snark or the set-up to a punchline because this is no laughing matter. My heart goes out to Jordan Travis and every single Seminole player today the way it went out to Carnell Williams and every last teammate on the 2004 Auburn team, the last undefeated Power 5 conference champion to be denied a shot at a national title.
